FUELLING GUIDE
There is no 'one size fits all' approach when it comes to Carbohydrate fuelling. Intake is largely dependant on a number of factors such as exercise duration, intensity, stomach tolerance and individual size / weight.
As a starting point we recommend recreational athletes to consume 40-60g of carbs per hour when exercising for over 60 minutes. This is a great base number to work from and adjust. Athletes will tend to gradually increase this intake over time whilst 'training the gut' to absorb an increased volume of carbs.
*When ingesting more than 60 grams of carbohydrate per hour, using a dual carbohydrate source becomes advantageous. Different proteins are used to transport such carbohydrates simultaneously, thus resulting in an increased rate of carbohydrate delivery and absorption at the muscles

During intense exercise bouts, carbohydrates are the primary fuel source used by the body to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
